The Teradek Cube 255/355 1-Channel HD-SDI Encoder/Decoder Pair includes a Cube 255 HDMI encoder and a Cube 355 HD-SDI decoder. This pair is called a Cubelet and is capable of very low latency (approximately 3 to 4 frames). The Cubelet provides an easy-to-use, point-to-point streaming solution. Both these units are paired and automatically connect with one another over an ad-hoc or Wi-Fi network.
The Cube 255/355 bundle offers an HDMI input/HD-SDI output and features a hardened aluminum chassis, low power consumption, and a variety of network connectivity options (RJ-45 Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5.8 GHz), and USB port for 3G/4G modems). This bundle provides a high-definition, end-to-end streaming video solution that eliminates the need for PC-based decoding. This bundle is particularly useful for news gathering or live event streaming.
Both Cube 255 encoder and Cube 355 decoder include an OLED that enables users to change and review the settings of their unit, in addition to providing real-time feedback for filenames, recording status, and wireless connectivity.
The Cube 255 includes comprehensive transport protocol support like RTP/RTSP/RTMP/MPEG-TS. This Cube 255 comes with a headphone output for immediate audio monitoring and a micro USB port that charges the internal battery. This encoder supports dozens of content delivery networks (CDNs), including Ustream, Justin.tv, Livestream, and Youtube Live.
The Cube 355 HD-SDI decoder is a wireless video decoder that outputs high-definition video via HD-SDI for use with video switchers and professional monitors. This device decodes IP video from Teradek encoders via Ethernet. This decoder comes with hardware refinements to increase ease of use and versatility.
Cube’s built-in Li-ion battery gives users up to 2 hours of runtime, which allows for seamless battery swapping or quick broadcasts. The battery can also be charged from an AC adapter or even a suitable external battery such as an Anton Bauer.
